Overview:
The Project Quality Control Manager is responsible for the management of materials, processes, equipment and the projects specification.
Responsibilities:
- Testing and verification of incoming materials delivered, and materials used in concrete production for compliance.
- Testing may include ASTM C-136, ASTM C-117, ASTM C-143, ASTM C-1611, ASTM C-231, ASTM C-1064, ASTM C-138, ASTM D-75 at a minimum.
- Concrete and CLSM adjustments during concrete production to retain compliance with specification and concrete placing subcontractor’s order.
- Self-Consolidating concrete mix adjustments to control spread and J ring results.
- Daily prep and adjustments to support temperature controls of concrete.
- Interfacing with placing subcontractor, Client Engineering and other Company personnel.
- Test report and other document creation, review, and submission.
- Scheduling certifications for equipment and personnel.
- Housekeeping of lab and testing equipment.
- Provide direction to technicians and check their work as needed.
Requirements:
- Must understand a concrete batch plant operation and how it functions.
- Must have material testing experience as it relates to concrete. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in testing is required.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in management.
- Ability to be a team player and role model for the company and its mission.
- Must be safety and quality minded
- Have advanced knowledge of concrete and concrete construction practices.
- Must have developed and adjusted concrete mixes and specifically had experience with self-consolidating concrete.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize activities depending on need along with good organizational skills.
- Must have ACI Level 1 concrete testing, ACI Level 1 aggregate testing and SCC concrete testing certifications.
- Must have the ability to be punctual, self-motivated and perform tasks without direction.
- Must have a working knowledge and the ability to use, Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Must have solid writing and verbal communication skills along with the ability to de-escalate situations.
- Must be detail oriented to ensure reports are completed properly and submitted on time.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
