Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Ready Mix Operations Manager to oversee daily production and operational performance across 7+ Ready Mix plants. This role is responsible for managing plant operations, coordinating with dispatch, leading 80+ drivers, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high quality concrete production. The Operations Manager reports directly to the owner and plays a key leadership role in supporting company growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations for all Ready Mix plants, ensuring consistent, high quality production.
- Lead, mentor, and manage plant managers, batch personnel, and 80+ Ready Mix drivers.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and DOT regulations.
- Monitor plant performance, production efficiency, and delivery logistics.
- Work closely with dispatch to optimize scheduling, routing, and customer service.
- Implement and maintain operational best practices across all locations.
- Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations for plant and driver teams.
- Coordinate maintenance needs with the Fleet Manager to minimize downtime.
- Track production metrics, costs, and operational KPIs; prepare reports for ownership.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning for operations.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Ready Mix operations management (multiplant experience preferred).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams across multiple sites.
- Solid understanding of concrete production, batching, quality control, and delivery logistics.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe operating practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to travel regularly between plant locations.
