The Automation Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and replacement of automation systems across all stages of the production process. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting and repairing component parts, industrial process control systems, instrumentation, robotic assembly equipment, and computer-controlled machinery designed to minimize manual intervention.
Key responsibilities include:
- The installation, modification, and programming of complex closed-loop and digital electronic systems.
The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming—primarily Rockwell and ABB platforms—as well as Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems. Expertise in automation and instrumentation technologies is essential, including motion sensors, control components, load cells, variable frequency drives (VFDs), photoelectric sensors, camera systems, and other critical technologies. Beyond system maintenance, the Automation Specialist will provide expert guidance to leadership by preparing reports on current capabilities and identifying future automation opportunities.
