Overview:
The Electrical Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the electrical maintenance operations within the steel mill. This role involves managing a team of electrical maintenance technicians, ensuring the optimal performance of electrical systems and equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Electrical Maintenance Manager will be responsible for minimizing downtime, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and driving continuous improvements in electrical system reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of electrical maintenance technicians.
- Assign and prioritize tasks to the team to meet production goals and ensure equipment reliability.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the development of team members.
Maintenance Planning and Execution:
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive and corrective electrical maintenance activities.
- Ensure all electrical systems, machinery, and equipment are maintained in peak working condition.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues, ensuring minimal impact on production.
Safety and Compliance:
- Monitor the condition of electrical equipment and systems, recommending necessary repairs, replacements, or upgrades.
- Ensure that electrical components and systems are operating efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices, enhance system reliability, and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to optimize electrical systems for better efficiency and performance.
- Implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs to enhance the longevity of electrical equipment.
Budget and Inventory Management:
- Assist in the preparation and management of the electrical maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Oversee the management of spare parts inventory, ensuring critical electrical components are readily available.
- Review and approve the purchase of electrical equipment, tools, and supplies as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology preferred or significant experience within steel mills.
