About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to oversee roadway construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who can confidently manage both estimating responsibilities and active project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for roadway and public infrastructure projects
- Review plans, specifications, and DOT requirements
- Develop project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor scopes
- Manage projects from award through completion
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and field teams
- Monitor job costs, change orders, and project profitability
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in roadway or heavy civil construction
- Experience estimating and managing DOT/public works projects
- Strong knowledge of grading, paving, underground utilities, and site development
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficient in scheduling and project management software
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with state DOT specifications
- Background in both field operations and office/project management
